The Ho Chi Minh City Furniture and Handicraft trade fair 2008 (HCMC EXPO) was organized from Oct 8th to Oct 12th 2008 at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Center (TBECC) – HCM City, with the participation of 310 domestic businesses and 9 foreign ones (accounting for 27 booths out of the total 824). As annual, the HCMC EXPO 2008 was named as one of the key trade promotion campaigns of the country, endorsed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

We, for the first time, launched online trade fair (www.tradeshow.com.vn) for those who could not take part in the fair and it created more added value to participating ones.

In the 5-days trade fair, we welcomed more than:
- 22500 Vietnamese visitors
- 7500 foreign guests
- 800 international importers to see the fair.
- 125 contracts have been signed with the value of USD 25.6 million, and more than 500 MOU.

In cooperation with the Vietnam’s Trade Commission in Japan, Vietrade and HAWA, a seminar has been conducted to introduce furniture industry and business matching between the two side businesses.

In short, the annual HCMC EXPO has largely been acknowledged as one of the key and successful events by the VN furniture and handicraft business community
